New 936 Movement Spotlight on: Yolanda "Yoyo" Lawson
Being a wife & mother of six children is more than enough to keep most women busy & fulfilled not to mention too exhausted to do anything else. But not Yolanda "Yoyo" Lawson. In a litttle better than a year she has managed to not only go above & beyond for family & friends but to also create an utterly impressive body of literary work & make plans to work entirely for herself. Creating stories that are somehow dark, intense & celebratory all at the same time, she has learned to balance it all with grace & in her spotlight we find out how this small-town girl stays focused on the big picture.

A. I'd have to say that I truly inspired myself to start writing as early as the age of 8. It was a way of getting by many painful encounterments. Escaping temporary pain, my pen and paper became my peace.
Q. How long have you been in business/performing?
A. I've bn a PA (published author) a little over a year now. Anything I release can be found on Amazon/Kindle /Kindle unlimited.

A. I'm originally from a small country town called Maynard. Growing up living the country life, I wouldn't have wanted it any other way..
Q. What do you have coming up?
A. I have enough work to keep me busy all 2022, but my goal is to go even harder. I'll soon be working n entirely for myself. Very excited about that. Q. How has the pandemic affected you or your art/business?
A. The pandemic truly helped me, as for getting things done in a timely manner. What else more to do than pick up a laptop during lockdown or quarentining? Lol.
Q. How do you balance your art/business with your family life?
A. Writing does get a bit overwhelming, at least when it comes to trying to balance business and maintaining being a full time mother of 6 and a wife. The tone has to be set right. No distractions.
Q. Any words of advice?
A. I advise anyone, no matter what it is that you're doing... elevate, always believe in yourself, trust God first and foremost, uplift and encourage others, and NEVER GIVE UP!!
