New 936 Movement Spotlight on: Carolyn Barnaby Satcherwhite

The word "selfless" takes on a whole new dimension when it comes to Carolyn Barnaby Satcherwhite. Whether it's family church or non-profit work she has consistently been willing to put her personal needs aside to make sure what needs to get done will get done no matter what. It's no wonder why so many people & organizations love & respect her & in her spotlight you will get an up-close & personal perspective of a woman who gives her all & asks nothing in return except that we pay it forward.

Q. Who influenced or inspired you?

A.  Its difficult to say who has influenced my life....early on I was always loved reading, so this is harder than i thought...Ruby Johnson as a 3rd grade teacher taught me early that hard work is well rewarded, as did my grandparents Elihue & Novella Jones.  They showed unconditional love for their kids and grandchildren; they influenced my work ethics.   My love for reading comes from my mother Elouise Williams.  My love for people and the desire to encourage, inspire people comes from the redemption given to me by Christ.  The more i realized God loved me the more I want people to know how much he loves us all.   Colin Powell's auto biography is one of my prized possessions and that along with a college Government class sparked my interest in politics.

Q. How long have you been in business/performing?

 A.  I love all things that smell good and became interested in learning more about essential oils which lead me to begin playing around with mixing up bath salts.  It was just a hobby that offered me peace and enjoyment.

Q. What has been your biggest obstacle?

A.  I am my biggest obstacle.  I tend to want to promote others moreso than promoting myself.  I want to be the supporter - the person in the background rather than the person in the spot light.

Q. How has the pandemic affected you or your art/business?

A. Since the pandemic, I have not promoted Conversations with Carolyn as much publicly nor my bath salts partly due to being needed more to help with my family and other obligations. I look forward to resuming Conversations with Carolyn very soon.

Q. Any words of advice?

A.  My advise is to know who you are, believe and know without a doubt your value.  Understanding and believing as well as having your own personal relationship with God honest about it all - and accepting the uniqueness of you.
