New 936 Movement Spotlight on: Norman Gee White

Managing artists is a big responsibility. When people trust you to guide them through the wild & wonderful world of the entertainment business they place their art their livelihood & their very future inyour hands. For over 12 years Norman Gee White has taken on that responsibility & every artist he worked with has reached new heights because of his insight & incredible work ethic. Now nominated for manager of the year Norman has become a staple in the Houston music & comedy scene & gets respect from the biggest names in the business. We caught up with him to find out just how a 936 native made such a huge mark in one of the toughest markets on the planet. 

*Update: Not only did Norman win the Manager of the year award but two of his artist walked away with awards as well. Congrats sir. Very well deserved.

Q. Who influenced or inspired you?

A. I was influenced by Quincy Jones, and  Stevie Wonder.

Q. How long have you been in business/performing?

A. I've been in the management business for 12 years. The first artist I signed to my management business was GunzPoint Bobby.

Q. What do you have coming up?

A. GunzPoint Bobby's EP "No Weapon Formed Against Me" drops in 2022. Kamara B. EP "SideChick World" drops 2022. Looking forward to doing some comedy shows with Mal Mallucci and working with new talent.

Q. How has the pandemic affected you or your art/business?

A. The pandemic brought the Hustle out, survival tactics. I've opened up a new catering business called "Ka'Vic's Catering" and I'm working on a new publishing company "Messiah De'Nay Publishing". Just finding alternative avenues to generate revenue!

Q. Any words of advice?

A. Words of advice, stay consistent! Keep like minded people around you or people with more knowledge than you to feed your brain. Have work life balance, rest and get back in the game💯
