In her spotlight we find out & the answers just might change the way you view the term "success".
Q. Who influenced or inspired you?
A. I have been influenced and inspired by people around me and people in my community. Whether it be my community in Alaska or my Texas community. I am inspired by those we consider ordinary people. By those people who face and overcome obstacles in life. The people who are successful against the odds. I always root for the underdog so those are the people who motivate me. These people make me believe I can do anything I put my mind to. All things are possible.
Q. Where are you from originally?
A. I was born in Conroe, Texas raised in Galveston and then Willis, Texas
Q. What sets your art/business apart from others?
A. I am a Texas state licensed real estate agent and I also help small businesses with proper business set up and obtaining business credit. One of the many things that set me apart is my heart for caring. I am not in the business of selling or leasing houses. I am in the business of assisting families find their home. A place where their heart will be. I am also adamant about helping businesses establish a solid foundation for funding and expansion.
Q. How has the pandemic affected you or your art/business?
A. The pandemic allowed me to retire from my airline career (I wasn't a flight attendant lol). I actually worked in Alaska and flew between there and Texas every two weeks. I am now allowed the luxury to do what I love most....connect with people. So for me the pandemic ( other than me having Covid19) was in a sense a blessing.
Q. What has been your biggest obstacle?
A. Money and exposure. I need more of both. The lack of Money or funding or business capital. But honestly it is not unique to me. If we are honest we know many small businesses struggle with these issues.
Q. Any words of advice?
A. I usually cater the advice to whom I am speaking but If I were to give blanket advice I would say.... 1.Find yourself and what you like to do. Use that passion to earn money.
2.Never believe or care what others say about you. Define yourself.
3. Never be afraid to start over and re-invent yourself as many times as necessary.
4. Don't be afraid to ask for help
5. Never give up
